Fit to Serve is a ministry resource, and we want everyone, including people with disabilities, to be able to read about the book, use the study resources, and reach Pastor Mark through this site.
The Standard We Aim For
We build toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Referencing WCAG 2.1 AA as a build target does not constitute a certification or conformance audit, and we do not represent that the Site fully conforms to any particular WCAG level. Accessibility is ongoing work, and we continue to improve the Site as part of regular maintenance.
Measures on This Site
- Semantic HTML structure with a declared page language and a “skip to content” link.
- Descriptive alternative text on the images that carry meaning.
- Visible focus styles on interactive elements for keyboard users.
- ARIA state attributes on the FAQ accordion so its open and closed states are announced.
- Labeled form fields on the contact form.
- Reduced-motion preferences respected for on-page animation.
Known Limitations
Some parts of the experience depend on services we do not control, including the third-party retailer sites where the book is sold and the service that delivers our contact form. If you run into a barrier there or anywhere on this Site, we want to know.
